Bridgetown: Junction Sixteen

In the spring of 2023, Thistle Hospitality Group (which owns the popular Founders House, Fort View Golf Course, and Whiskey Teller in Annapolis Royal), opened Junction Sixteen in Bridgetown. Formerly The Station, and before that the End of the Line Pub, the building has undergone extensive renovations to create a gorgeous spot for lunch or supper.

First and foremost, the ambiance is warm and inviting. The interior is tastefully decorated with a blend of rustic and contemporary elements, creating a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. The dim lighting and comfortable seating make it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends.

Moving on to the food, under the direction of Chef Chris Pine (a Valley treasure), Junction Sixteen truly excels in delivering a memorable culinary journey. Their menu is a fusion of global flavors, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Each dish is always thoughtfully prepared and showcases the chef’s attention to detail. They recently introduced wood-fired pizzas, and the response from the community has been overwhelming, with a packed house most Friday and Saturday nights.

The service has been impeccable at each visit. The staff are friendly, attentive, and well-informed about the menu, and of course, being in a small community, they remember their regulars and welcome them warmly. They are happy to provide recommendations and cater to any dietary restrictions (there are many gluten-free and vegan options).

Lastly, I must mention the impressive drink selection. Their extensive wine list features a diverse range of local and international wines, perfectly curated to complement the menu. Additionally, they offer a variety of craft cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

In the summer of 2023 Junction Sixteen will be expanding its parking lot to include a space for off-road enthusiasts (the restaurant is adjacent to the Harvest Moon Rail Trail), and adding more outdoor seating for those using the take-out window.
